HTC Sensation
25.06.11
It seemed like HTC was falling behind in the mobile processing power race, but all that changed when the dual core Sensation was unveiled. The flagship device combines Android 2.3 with the manufacturer’s own Sense user interface, and is definitely a step up from previous models like the Desire HD and the Wildfire.

The new phone's user interface looks and feels a little more refined. There's now a 3D effect when you scroll between homescreens instead of mere left and right flipping, and the screen unlock has been tweaked; you now drag a sphere towards to the centre of the screen to unlock, and you can also drag it towards a function, such as phone or camera, so you can quickly go from locked to ringing a family member or taking a photo - particularly useful as there's no dedicated camera button.
The notification bar has two tabs, allowing you to switch between a list of quick settings, like turning wi-fi on or off, and the usual list of Android notifications. The quick settings tab is welcome, but it does mean it can take an extra tap on the screen to get to notifications when they appear.
